Anvil Bar & Refuge Video Online

May 8, 2009

There is a new website online called Blockcast.TV, which is visiting Houston bars and posting video tours.  Blockcast is touring a wide spectrum of Houston bars, and recently, they came to see us at Anvil.  I spent some time talking with them during a recent shift, and now the video tour of Anvil is available.  I think the below video concisely gives a great tour of our bar, and I get to make a virtual version of one of my favorite cocktails, the Pisco Sour. So enjoy, and be sure to check back with Blockcast for more bar tours.

Great video. Thanks, Bobby, so much for opening Anvil; Houston might become a cocktail town… eventually.

Great selection of bitters! I like the cafe atmosphere, too. Best thing I took away, was the “latte art” use of Angostura.

    Cheers!

I’ve just fallen in love, no not with your voice, but with your bar!!! I’m gonna book myself a plane ticket from New Zealand and see ya on Friday ;)

Great work and I can’t to drink there one day.

    All the best

Love it. Can’t wait to come in this week. Hopefully I won’t have to wait till Wednesday. The bar is still easily my favorite and I don’t seem to branch out much anymore.

    See you guys soon.

throwback to the 1950’s ? I wish Tammy would have read up a little more.
However not to dwell further I love that Anvil was chosen for this clip and Bobby took us on the tour of the place. Long live Anvil! Long live Blockcast .TV!

I’m on a food and wine tour in Asia visiting Japan and Taiwan. The only thing missing here is Anvil’s greatest cocktails. Can’t wait to come back again to enjoy the world class cocktails in Houston. It is so refreshing! Thanks Bobby.

Glad you enjoyed this video. Anvil was an amazing place to shoot - so much hard work, blood, sweet and tears went into making it that we could have made the video 30 minutes long. And then each cocktail creation deserves its own video. But alas video can say only so much… its the kind of place you have to see to get the full effect. Hope to see you there.

Got something to say?
