Welcome Drink Dogma’s New Bloggers
March 22, 2008
How do you generate tons of content for your blog? Well, you could spend endless hours after lengthy bartending shifts writing posts everyday, leaving you exhausted and officially nocturnal. Or, you can con…err…persuade two of your friends who are as cocktail crazy as you to help you out. So without further delay, please help me welcome two new contributors to Drink Dogma: Kevin and Morgan. I am certain that our combined knowledge and diverse perspectives will make Drink Dogma’s launch more successful than it already has been.
Kevin Floyd: Bartender - Beaver’s, Houston, TX
Kevin was my best friend long before I ever even had my first drink. Nowadays, Kevin and I challenge each other to perfect the trade of bartending at the bar. Kevin joined the team close to three months ago, and his enthusiasm for classics and refined creativity has skyrocketed. Throw in Kevin’s passion for a good brew, and it is easy to see how he will be a vital part of this blog from this point forward.
Morgan Anonymous - Corporate Job Guy, Houston, TX
Offering a perspective from the other side of the bar is our corporate friend, Morgan Anonymous. Because Morgan is unsure about how his professional career will be affected by contributing to a blog devoted entirely to alcohol, his entire identity will not be revealed at this time. However, if you frequent the eGullet Spirits & Cocktails forum, you’ve likely run into him from time to time. His cocktail knowledge is also extremely elevated, and he is one of those rare enthusiasts who can hold his own with people who have made cocktails their profession. Morgan is also a wine and beer fanatic, so again, Drink Dogma is going to be hitting on all cylinders.
Best of all, both of these guys live in Houston, Texas! I can’t describe how exciting living in Houston has been since finding others to share my hobby and career with. Having been primarily self-taught, engaging in daily conversations with people about new spirits, classic cocktail ratios, and that mysterious beer on tap at the bar last has really helped refine my perspective on sophisticated drinking. Over the next week, we will hear from each of these individuals, and I am certain that their insight will be invaluable.
